DEBUT 2021 Featured in Apparel News
The DEBUT 2021 show, featuring more than 100 garments from nine student designers, was held at the Cooper Design Space in downtown Los Angeles last month. The virtual event was broadcast on YouTube, and was covered by industry publication California Apparel News. Each Advanced Fashion Design student created a collection based on their personal aesthetic choices.
The annual DEBUT show is the culmination of a nine-month intensive program. Hundreds of students apply each year to the elite Advanced Study program, but only a few are accepted. Singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield has already worn one of DEBUT designer Bella Madden looks during her recent performance at the Orange County Fair.
Advanced Fashion Design program students have gone on to become founders of world-renowned couture, ready-to-wear, and action sports brands; as well as head designers and creative directors for global apparel companies. Designers Monique Lhuillier, Kevan Hall, and Leanne Marshall earned their degrees and launched their careers at DEBUT.
